Lot Essay

With Omega Certificate dated October 2003 confirming production of the present watch in 1958 and its subsequent sale on 5 June 1958 to Kuwait. Furthermore delivered with contemporary Omega Constellation presentation box.

The present watch is one of the exceedingly rare "Constellation Grande Luxe" reference PA 16.331 models cased in platinum, with diamond-set silvered dial and original platinum bracelet, all confirmed by the Certificate. Introduced into the market in 1953, this model was mainly available in yellow gold or pink gold. Preserved in very good, original overall condition, the rarity is further enhanced by the contemporary Omega Constellation presentation box.

Launched in 1952, the iconic "Constellation" model and its variations in regard to case and dial layout has become a highly coveted collector's watch. It is extensively described and illustrated in Omega - A Journey Through Time by Marco Richon, Chapter 8, pp. 359-400.
