Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with silvered dial and raised steel hour markers in 1941 and its subsequent sale on 8 June 1942.

To the best of our knowledge, this watch has never been offered in public before and is furthermore the only example of a reference 688 to appear in public to date.

Reference 688 was introduced into the market around 1937. The model was made in a very small series only and was until today only known from archival images.
