Dr. Manfred Reuther, from the Nolde Stiftung, Seebüll, has confirmed the authenticity of this work.

The present work, translated as Dance of the Mountain Giants, is from his Fantasies series, a group of ten drawings executed by Nolde during his stay on the North Sea coast in 1902.
