MARK OF THOMAS TONGUE, BIRMINGHAM, 1867
Comprising: a claret jug and six goblets; the claret jug on circular foot, with baluster body and entwined vine handle, with hinged cover, decorated with allegories of night and day; the knopped stem and neck applied with owls and bats, the belly with Aurora, the Goddess of Dawn with horse-drawn chariot, with two vacant cartouches, each goblet with gilt interior and engraved with panels centering grape bunches, the jug marked on base, neck and cover, finial and nut, each goblet marked on body and on foot, with fitted wood stand
