A 'MONT SAINT-MICHEL AND ITS BAY' DIAMOND AND PLATINUM OBJECT, BY MITSUO KAJI
The platinum object depicting the world heritage 'Mont Saint-Michel and its bay', centered with the statue of Archangel Michael standing on top of the abbey suspending a brilliant-cut light yellow diamond weighing 1.00 carat, surrounded by the monastic buildings accented by diamond-set roof, windows and pavement imbedded to the textured landscape and surrounding rocks, the object opening to reveal a sliding compartment on the right, the left opening to reveal a hinged compartment decorated with a spiralled staircase, chandelier and ruby lamps, to the back drawer secured by a sliding knob and a switch to light up the abbey tower; on a green marble display (not illustrated), 22.0 x 11.5 x 22.3 cm
