Cette oeuvre sera incluse dans le catalogue critique de l'oeuvre de Kees van Dongen actuellement en préparation par Monsieur Chalom des Cordes sous l'égide de l'Institut Wildenstein.

En 1947, l'éditeur Gallimard publia le roman A la recherche du Temps perdu de Marcel Proust, illustré de 77 aquarelles réalisées spécialement par Kees van Dongen pour cette oeuvre. L'ensemble de ces huit aquarelles provient de cet exceptionnel travail d'illustration de l'artiste.

In 1947, the publisher Gallimard released the novel A la recherche du Temps perdu by Marcel Proust, illustrated wih 77 watercolors, made especially for this work by Kees van Dongen. The eight present watercolors are part of this extraordinary illustration work done by the artist.
