Original tan cloth, spine and front cover lettered in blue, original photo-illustrated dust-jacket printed in yellow, red and black (small chips, a few short tears). Provenance: Weegee (signature on the title page, and inscription dated '1945' on the dedication page, both in green ink, to:) -- Sally Pepper.

FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY, SIGNED AND INSCRIBED BY WEEGEE: 'To Sally Pepper, my favourite boss, whose kindness, help and patience, made this book possible, Weegee'. Sally Pepper was picture editor at PM, where Weegee and Lisette Model where regular contributors. An excellent association copy, in a very good example of a later printing of the rare dust-jacket which states 'third large printing' on the front flap.
