Original black cloth, spine lettered in red and white, original dust-jacket printed in red and black (extremities rubbed, light soiling, dust-jacket with small chips and short tears, some of these closed with tape on the verso). Klein's inscription in red felt-tipped pen on the title-page. Provenance: William Eggleston (ownership signature).
FIRST EDITION. WILLIAM EGGLESTON'S COPY, SIGNED BY WILLIAM KLEIN. Next to his name Klein has also written the book's title in Japanese. Eggleston's ownership signature is dated January 1969 -- the year of his first meeting with MoMA's John Szarkowski. 101 Books, p.143; The Open Book, pp.206-7.
