Lot Essay

Shelley Rohde first met Lowry when she was working for the Daily Mail and she then subsequently made with Granada Television, the award-winning documentary, L S Lowry: A Private View. She talked to Lowry on several occasions before he died and published her biography on him in 1979. This definitive study of Lowry's life was most recently revised and reissued in 1999.
