"Either way, the angels are dead. Perhaps gruesomely murdered, as the faded photocopies suggest, maybe pushed or fallen from Heaven by accident. Eternally out of reach, Heaven shines over our fading earthly existence." (op. cit. Exh. cat., Centraal Museum, Utrecht, p. 11).
