Rita Salmona was born in New York City in 1936, but she moved to Monaco where she grew up among the world's elite. It was in Monaco where she met Claude Cartier, the son and heir to Louis Cartier, and the Cartier family legacy. Their marriage was a blend of two cultures and took place in 1956 in Paris, France, and would lead to two children. Rita was catapulted into a world where fame and unrelenting public scrutiny were at her side. She designed her life with her very sensitive nature, which is seen in her choice of original and feminine pieces of jewelry. Her desire to stay true to herself would lead her to leave the fast paced world, and live in the beauty of the French Pyrenees, where she resides to this day. PROPERTY FROM THE COLLECTION OF MRS.
