G.9051 nickel-finished lever movement, entirely hand-decorated with concentric perlage, 54 jewels, skeletonized 18K white gold rotor depicting the letter G, tourbillon carriage visible through an octagonal aperture to the lower part of the black and ivory ceramic dial, Arabic numerals, hour hand jumping from 6 to the right side of the tourbillon aperture to the one on the left, massive octagonal water-resistant-type case, tantalum bezel, angular downturned lugs, glazed display back secured by eight pentagonal screws, beaded cabochon black onyx-set crown, 18K white gold Gérald Genta deployant clasp, case, dial and movement signed

Lot Essay

The Gérald Genta "Octo" (for octagonal) collection combines an architectural avant-garde case with a variety of technical complications, the movements entirely designed and produced by the manufacturer.

The model is distinguished by its massive octagonal case, available in different materials and with a diversity of dial designs.

Sold in 2004, the present watch is from the very first models of the Octo line of watches, launched in the same year. It is furthermore preserved in excellent like new overall condition.
