Marked Fabergé, Moscow, 1896-1908, scratched inventory number 29443
The tapering ivory tusk with rose-diamond set ribbon-tied laurel swags and rosette mounts, the steel blade with gold rosette, foliate and reeded sprung mounts, with gold foliate rim, marked on reeded mount and rim, in original fitted case, the cover stamped with the Imperial warrant and in Russian 'K. Fabergé Moscow St. Petersburg Odessa'

A note in the interior states:
By repute, given by The Tsar of Russia, (Nicholas II) to The 10th Earl of Kintore (1879-1966) in St Petersburg, 1901.
Then by direct descent to the 14th Earl of Kintore.
