A late 19th century gold, diamond, gem and enamel pendant-necklace by Giuliano
The lozenge shaped pendant set with a central circular pale brown zircon and symetrically-set green and yellow gem collets in a cruciform design, decorated with white and black champlevé enamel, suspending a pearl drop, the reverse with foliate engraved detail to a pale blue enamel loop suspended from a gold and blue and white enamel 'candy twist' necklace with pearl intervals, approximately 38.0 cm. long, circa 1890, the pendant in fitted purple velvet case by Kitts, the silk lining stamped C. Giuliano, 115 Piccadilly, London, please note that the pearls have not been tested for natural origin
The pendant reverse with twin applied plaques C.G for Carlo Giuliano (used between 1863 and 1895), the necklace unsigned however C.f. Sotheby's catalogue, Castellani & Giuliano, New York, 6th December, 2006, lot 144, for a similar necklace
