Lot Essay

This work is accompanied by an original letter from Paul Manship dated November 30, 1961. In the letter, Manship states that the work dates from 1917 and it was conceived as a study for a lifesize fountain with the same title made for the garden of Charles Schwab, Loretto, Pennsylvania.
