Octagonal box, the cover centred by a glazed oval miniature on ivory depicting Emperor Napoleon I of France (1769-1821), in blue uniform with white facings, wearing the breast-star and badge of the Imperial French Order of the Legion of Honour, in a sablé gold border, stamped with acanthus within opaque blue enamelled fluting, the frosted sides and base engine-turned with concentric circles, the borders and pilasters with raised flowerheads, lozenges and scrolling foliage enamelled with blue taille d'épargne
