Lot Essay

The Jürgensen brand name has a long tradition in watch making going back to the mid 18th century. The original founder of the firm Jürgen Jürgensen worked in Copenhagen around 1759. Later his son Urban (1776-1830) and his son Jules both became renowned watch makers in their own right and practiced in their native Denmark as well as Switzerland.

The Urban Jürgensen name was brought back to the market in 1981 by Peter Baumberger and today the company is known for its small production high caliber timepieces.
