This painting, which is after a celebrated, lost Rubens of circa 1628 (known through a Christoffel Jegher woodcut), is described by Jaffé as: 'tra le numerose repliche di bottega [studio replicas] una delle miglori è conservata nella collezione di Walter P. Chrysler' (op. cit).
