Lot Essay

The present watercolour is stylistically similar to a view of A flower market near the Conciergeries, Paris, which was part of the Allnutt Collection, sold in these Rooms on 17 November 1987 as lots 76 - 128. The greater part of the collection was sold in these Rooms, June 1863.
