Six Important Works by Tracey Emin

Tracey Emin's art is one of self-revelation, crossing numerous different mediums including painting, drawing, photography, neon, embroidery, installation, video and sculpture. A remarkable storyteller, Emin uses experiences from her life as inspiration, exploring human nature and psychology with such clarity and poignancy that her work has universal appeal.

The written word is a key component of her practice taking the form of letters, poems, short stories, books and neon signs; even the titles of her autobiographical drawings and memorabilia installations combine with an image or object to create an emotionally charged atmosphere. She is skilled at making work that can be both deeply moving and humorous in equal measure.
