The rectangular padded back, sides, seat and squab cushions covered in cream and gold floral patterned silk, with turned fluted and palmette-carved detached column-supports and pinched gadrooned finials, on turned tapering legs, stamped three times 'G.IACOB', bearing a marque au feu with three fleurs-de-lys within an oval

Georges Jacob, maître in 1765.
The unidentified Royal brand of three fleurs-de-lys within an oval surround, to the underside indicates that the present canapé was most probably in a Royal château during the Restauration period (1815-1830).
