Lot Essay
According to the Archives of Audemars Piguet, the present watch is part of an exceedingly small series of possibly less than five examples of this model made in 1995. All cases were numbered 1 and each watch was set with different precious stones such as diamonds and rubies, diamonds and emeralds, consequently rendering them all unique. This present lot stands out by its highly unusual design and case construction, allowing it to be worn either as brooch or as a wristwatch. This particular timepiece is set with around 24 pear-shaped and marquise-cut diamonds of approx. 6.0 to 6.5 carats and approx. 36 rubies of approx. 10 to 12 carats. Highly jewelled watches such as these were most certainly made to special order.
