With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with raised steel hour markers and tachometre scale in 1949 and its subsequent sale on 2 October 1950.
The present stainless steel reference 1463 must be one of the most appealing and visually pleasing examples of this model thanks to its winning look lend by the pulsation dial. This watch was with the original owners' family until 2004 when it was sold in these salerooms with a tachometre dial. Regrettably, during its first fifty years of life, this dial suffered from unprofessional cleaning and was consequently no longer doing justice to the overall quality and rarity of the watch. Shortly after its acquisition some six years ago, the current owner was fortunate enough to find a perfectly well preserved and ultra rare pulsation dial, an exclusivity by itself, which gave it back its glorious looks. It should be mentioned that the current 1950s pulsation dial is the only one known mounted on a stainless steel reference 1463, a wonderful asset to its next owner.
This example is now for the second time available to the aficionado of this mythical reference and, thanks to its unique looks and history, representing great value and enjoyable hours of wear to its next owner.
Reference 1463 was launched in 1940 and remained in production until 1965. The majority was cased in yellow gold, few examples in pink gold or stainless steel were made.
