According to the Archives of Montres Longines Francillon SA, the present calibre 30Z movement was manufactured in 1950.

The present chronometer movement calibre 30Z is one of Longines' milestone products: in 1950 the firm took a decisive step in its commitment to high precision by starting the production of movements designed specifically for timing operations by manufacturing 300 examples of the 30Z, a 30 mm. calibre destined exclusively for observatory competitions.
