PRISTINE BORDEAUX AND BURGUNDY
From private custom temperature and humidity controlled cellar comes this small yet impressive consignment. All lots are in near pristine condition.
Château Pétrus--Vintage 1982
Pomerol, cru exceptionnel. Château-bottled
Levels: high into neck; one nicked labels, one glue stained labels In original wooden case
"At a recent luncheon, Petrus '82 lived up to its billing. A medium garnet color, the wine was intensely fragrant, with forward notes of ripe and black berry fruit and fig at first sniff. Further interrogation revealed the aroma of new saddle leather and wild lavender, along with hints of wood smoke and tar. On the palate the wine showed medium body and balanced acidity along with tannins that were still firm but not astringent in the least. The flavors evident on the nose were confirmed and expanded on the palate, and the wine began to adopt the typical sweet fruit brown sugar notes that are typical Pomerol markers for me, along with a very subtle hint of soy and a level of extract and a length that were truly extraordinary. This is a truly profound wine that demonstrates in hedonistic fashion the reason that collectors go to such expense to secure it. Very youthful still." Lunch with a client in Tiburon, CC, July 2010
