Ivan Da Silva-Bruhns (1881-1980)
D'origine brésilienne, le peintre et créateur Ivan Da Silva-Bruhns est né en France. Il abandonne sa carrière de médecin pour se tourner vers la création de tapis faits main, installant son propre atelier à Savigny, en 1925. Il collabore à l'aménagement des paquebots 'Ile de France', 'Normandie' ou encore 'Atlantique'. Parmi ses clients privés il compte le Maharadjah d'Indore. Of Brazillian origin, the French-born painter and designer, Ivan Da Silva-Bruhns, abandoned a career in medicine to pursue a career in the design of handwoven carpets, establishing his own atelier at Savigny, in 1925. Major commissions included the ocean liners 'Ile de France', 'Atlantique', and 'Normandie'. The Maharaja of Indore was among his notable private clients.
