Lot Essay

Designed in 2004 to commemorate Georg Jensen's centenary, the Nordic Splendour necklace is inspired by the rare and ancient elements of the Nordic landscape. The glimmering mountain peaks and dramatic glacial formations hold the distinct imprint and personality of nature and light in Scandinavia. The matrix setting intensifies the radiance of the diamonds, creating a three dimensional quality which allows light to reflect from every angle. Nordic Splendour's sculptural form speaks to Georg Jensen's emphasis on craftsmanship and outstanding quality.
