Lot Essay

The present lot was doubtless executed in the workshop of Feodor Rückert, although his mark is not visible. Ovchinnikov, together with such firms as Fabergé and Kurliukov, purchased and retailed many of Rückert's works.

For another cup of identical form, see Sotheby's, London, 1 December 2010, lot 430.
