Unsigned, case stamped with casemaker's mark PIG, circa 1780
Gilt-finished verge movement, chain fusée, finely pierced and engraved scroll decorated balance cock, white enamel dial, Roman numerals, gilt Louis XV hands, white dial, outer Arabic five minute divisions, circular case, chased and embossed bezel and rim with applied varicoloured gold floral decoration in high relief, reverse centred by a painted enamel scene depicting "Leda and the Swan", case stamped with casemaker's mark PIG

The enamel miniature on the back of this watch represents a classic subject in arts: Leda and the Swan, a motif from Greek mythology, in which Zeus came to Leda in the form of a swan.
