Square, the cut glass inkwell on four paw feet, the mounts and collar with anthemion and foliate decoration, the hinged cover set with a silver coin dated '1724' depicting Emperor Peter I, with removable liner, set on a porphyry base with four bun feet and ribbon-tied reeded border, marked on bezel and under rim of base
