MARKED GRACHEV, ST PETERSBURG, CIRCA 1890
Of traditional form, the raised prow with an enamelled Imperial three-headed eagle finial holding an orb, sceptre and laurel wreath and surmounted by the Imperial crown, the sides with two vacant shaped cartouches surrounded with scrolling strapwork and foliage enamelled in shades of blue, green, white and translucent red, the front and back centring circular reserves with radiating foliate strapwork, with egg-and-dart border enamelled in green, red and white, the trefoil flat handle with conforming border and engraved monogram above the inscription 'St Petersburg 1898', marked under base
