BY THE IMPERIAL PORCELAIN FACTORY, ST PETERSBURG, CIRCA 1880-1890
Ovoid, centring an oval panel depicting St. Peter, Metropolitan of Moscow and Wonderworker, raising his right hand in benediction and holding the Gospels in his left hand, a cathedral in the distance, the reverse painted with a Greek cross depicting the icons of Jesus Christ, the Mother of God, Saint John the Baptist, the Archangels Gabriel and Michael, on a scaled ground ornamented with little blue crosses, the sides with a band of gilt ciselé scrolling foliage on white ground, probably after a design by A.S. Kaminsky or O.S. Chirikov, apparently unmarked
