Château Latour--Vintage 1983
Pauillac, 1er cru classé. Château-bottled
"A recent bottle of 1983 Latour showed a lovely sweet cassis liqueur fruit character with a decidedly roasted, smoky edge and just a hint of wild herbs at the end. On the palate the wine showed rich tannins, full body and an impressive level of extract and length, with a suggestion of roasted coffee on the finish." At the estate, Charles Curtis M. W., March 2011
"This was a very good bottle. Dark vibrant crimson. Very concentrated and sweet with an intense nose reminiscent of liquorice that almost reminded me of Syrah. Quite amazing persistence with an impressively fresh finish." At the estate, Jancis Robinson M. W., March 2011
"Dark red centre with a hint of amber at the rim. There are aromas of roasted herbs, stem, earth and burnt wood. Also a meaty character is noted on the palate." At the estate, Paulo Pong, March 2011
