Château Latour--Vintage 1981
Pauillac, 1er cru classé. Château-bottled
Vintage Report: A good claret vintage. The weather conditions were advantageous: the early flowering in hot, dry weather which continued throughout the summer with a sprinkling of rain in September to swell the grapes and which cleared for the harvest on 1 October.
"The 1981 tastes remarkably velvety and supple for such a young Latour because the excellence, complexity, and richness of the wine are still present." 91 points, Robert Parker, 1998
"Ruby-red with amber rim; youthful, rich Cabernet-dominated nose; palate of medium weight, with vibrant, refreshing fruit, tannins and acidity in balance V for the medium term." At Christies King Street, Anthony Hanson M.W., November 2005
