Rectangular on four claw and ball feet, with lion-mask drop-ring handles, an engine turned band around cover, fitted with two ink-bottles and a stamp-box and pen-tray, engraved with an inscription, marked on side and inside covers

The inscription reads 'PRESENTED TO The Hon Weetman John Churchill Pearson. BY THE AGENT AND EMPLOYEES OF THE COWDRAY ESTATE ON HIS COMING OF AGE 27TH FEBRUARY 1931'
