Lot Essay

E. A. Mogul and F. N. Souza met as students at the J.J. School of Art, Bombay in the early 1940s. Six months after Souza was expelled from the school in June 1945 for his left-wing politics, Mogul helped Souza organize his first one man show at the Bombay Art Society. They remained life-long friends.
