In the foreword to the 1986 Serpentine show Peter Fuller comments 'The Kew paintings of 1984 ... have a renewed intensity and vividness, especially Berg's depiction of the blues of the sky and the lake' (Exhibition catalogue, Adrian Berg, London, Serpentine Gallery, 1986, p. 14).
