'Charles Darwin determines aspects of behavior and discusses how humans and animals are related in his book, The Expression of the Emotions in Man and Animals, published in 1872.
Along with his previous book The Origin of Species, a work of scientific literature which is considered to be the foundation of evolutionary biology and his 1871 book Descent of Man, Darwin explains his main consideration of human origins, demonstrating the animal sources of human emotional life. His theory has been researched by many scientists working in a variety of fields over many years and has hence been overwhelmingly validated by evidence. It is from this point that my new work, titled The Feast started to take shape.
A fable is a succinct fictional story, in prose or verse,that features animals, mythical creatures or forces of nature which are anthropomorphisized and which illustrates a moral lesson which may at the end be expressed explicitly in a pithy maxim. A fable differs from a parable in that the latter excludes animals, plants, inanimate objects and forces of nature as actors that assume speech and other powers of humankind. Giving this similarity in literature, I aimed to create a visual fable. This idea is the basis of this work, The Feast and the upcoming series.
My works, including The Feast are firmly grounded in history, the desire for power and human nature. Adding a new expression, my last work The Feast tells the story of 'the other' who built his/her own habitat by holding power/force as the dominant element. It is the true story of human nature. It is the story of the nature of absolute power. It is the story of the weak, the poor who became a part of or the main course at the banquet held at the rich man's table.'

Ansen's technique can be described as unique and is abundantly evident in this outstanding work - the execution, precision, use of light, level of detail and overall power is remarkable.
Ansen's technique is a hybrid between painting, sculpture and photography, incorporating techniques from each to achieve a unique digital image that looks like a painted photograph.
The artist takes digital art to new heights, overlapping real images with the use of digital technology.
None of his works are reprinted to preserve the quality and individuality of his art and it highlights Ansen's disapproval of the way in which images are constantly replicated in digital media.
