Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin and Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with white dial and 12 Breguet numerals in 1999 and its subsequent sale on 31 August 2000. Furthermore delivered with Patek Philippe product information, burgundy red presentation box and outer packaging.

The present watch is number 3 of a limited edition of only 10 examples with glazed back exclusively made for Patek Philippe's celebrated retailer Chronometrie Beyer in Zurich in the year 2000.

Reference 5034, the successor of the celebrated dual time zone wristwatch reference 2597, was in production from 1997 until 2002. The limited edition made for Chronometrie Beyer was sold in 2000 under reference 5034SJ (S for sapphire, J for yellow gold) and is distinguished by the glazed display backs as opposed to the solid version of the standard model.

Beyer Chronometrie Zurich
Established in 1760, the prestigious firm is celebrating their 250th anniversary in 2010. Since its foundation, it has always been passed down from father to son, each a fully trained watchmaker. Beyer Chronometrie was the first shop in Switzerland specializing exclusively in watches, clocks and jewellery and has enjoyed a long term relationship with Patek Philippe for over 165 years. The firm is currently managed by René Beyer who represents the seventh generation of the Beyer family.

The company also owns the renowned Clock and Watch Museum Beyer Zurich, one of the world's most important horological collections. It comprises some 500 pieces dating from 1400 BC to the present day.
