John Hoyland, R.A. (1934-2011)
Property of Beatrice Monti della Corte Beatrice Monti della Corte founded Galleria dell'Ariete, Milan, in 1955. Between the years 1955 and 1979 she organised over 200 exhibitions, which included works by David Hockney, Juan Miró, Cy Twombly, Robert Rauschenberg and Alighiero Boetti. Also represented in the exhibitions were works by British artists Richard Smith, Stephen Buckley, Harold Cohen and Bernard Cohen, and a selection of their work will be included in Christie's South Kensington sale of 20th Century British Art on 15 December 2011.
