Of upright rectangular form with rounded shoulders, the front side repoussé with an outdoor scene of a dining merchant couple, the other three sides richly decorated with stylised strapwork and foliate arabesques, each with a circular reserve centring a repoussé rosette, the globular screw-on cover and shoulders similarly chased with scrolling and geometric strapwork, the base later engraved '1841 January 19th 1891' and with a stylised initial, marked under base, on side and cover
