Lot Essay
Accompanied by an unused Rolex crocodile strap.
The 6062, a triple calendar moonphase, is the most complex watch Rolex has ever made. Produced in the short window from 1948-1953, it's thought that less than 500 pieces of this model exist. As can be seen from the 18K gold case's lovely patina, this watch remarkably remains in completely unworn condition and even has the original strap. To find such a pristine model is itself quite rare, to discover one with the "Star Dial", the most unusual configuration, is quite extraordinary. Moreover, this example contains the scarcely seen marking "Officially Certified Chronometer" located above the sub-seconds, which dates this watch to 1952-1953. It's truly exciting to see such a paragon of the 6062 come to market.
