Sale Room Notice
A comparable work by Von Rosenhof, Head of a Deer, which is signed and dated '1671' sold at Sotheby's, London, 18 April 1973, lot 137. Based on the similarities between that work and the present lot, Marianne Baumann-Engels has from a photograph confirmed the attribution of the present work to Von Rosenhof, and suggested a date of circa 1671 (private correspondence to Otto Naumann, 14 June 2004).
