Lot Essay

"Art is my profession and this establishes a strong connection with the political situation, with political dialogue and its discourse. My Art provides a visual drama often including glimpses of the real world through photographs, as an eye-witness to actual events"
(Wael Darwesh)
Post 25th January, 2011, Darwesh has made himself the non-stop transmitter and receiver of the Egyptian people's thoughts, whose messages he expresses in his paintings. His works depict visual and rare dramas portraying the arguments that circulate in the Egyptian street.
