Lot Essay
'On her way to meet the sun, looking for a way out and reaching out for light, Miss Butterfly is caught in a spider's web. The spider moved by compassion after observing Miss Butterfly's grace and delicacy and hence comes to an agreement with her. She is asked to bring one of the insects from the dark cellar in order to tie it up in the spider's web while the spider leads her to the way out and into the light. After hearing the insects' stories, Miss Butterfly feels pity for them and returns to the spider empty-handed with her injured wings. She makes herself captive in the web to become the spider's food. Once the truth has been unveiled, the spider sets Miss Butterfly free and shows her the way out to meet the sun. Miss Butterfly recalls all the other insects in the cellar to share her freedom with them but remains unheard. Frustrated by their reaction, Miss Butterfly opens her weary wings and flies toward the sun.'
