Lot Essay

Dendrochronology: John Topham, Redhill, UK, August 2, 2011. The tree-ring analysis report dates the youngest growth rings on the bass side of the top to the year 1717 and the treble side to 1715.
The wood significantly cross matched tops from numerous other Italian makers from the early 18th century, the majority being Cremonese works.
