Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin and Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1963 and its subsequent sale on 21 January 1964. Furthermore delivered with the original sales tag, case opening tool, original fitted presentation box and outer packaging.

The icy beauty of its white gold case combined with the traditional enamel dial, confirmed by the Certificat d'Origin et de Garantie and by the Extract, the original accessories and most notably the excellent, like new overall condition render the present watch a trophy for the discerning collector. It is furthermore believed to be one of only two examples of a white gold reference 3428 with enamel dial to appear in public to date.

Reference 3428 was introduced in 1960 until the mid-1960s and was made in an exceedingly small series only. It is the successor of Patek Philippe's first model featuring a self-winding movement, reference 2526. Whereas reference 2526 is fitted with the celebrated calibre 12'''600, reference 3428 is equipped with the second generation self-winding movement, calibre 27-460.
