Lot Essay

The Rolex bubble-back was during a period of nearly 20 years the firms' bestseller, made in rather generous quantities in a nearly unlimited number of variations in regards to case shape, case material and dial designs. Often used (and sadly also abused) these watches are not often available in good, original condition.

The present example however reunites every conceivable element a bubble-back collector can possibly dream of: the fancy steel and gold hooded lugs case, a superb and unrestored black dial highlighted with luminous numerals and multiple scales, a lovely double signature, the fantastic extendable Oyster bracelet and, most importantly the simply breathtakingly crisp condition. Bubble-backs of such quality are amongst the rarest watches in the world and offer incredible value to any educated Rolex aficionado.
