AN ALEXANDRITE AND DIAMOND RING
Set to the centre with a cushion-shaped alexandrite weighing approximately 15.58 carats, within an oval-shaped diamond surround, mounted in platinum, ring size 5½

Accompanied by report no. 62743 dated 12 March 2012 from the SSEF Swiss Gemmological Institute stating that the 15.58 alexandrite is a natural chrysoberyl of Brazil origin, colour change in daylight: bluish green, in incandescent light: purple, with no indications of any treatment, with a strong colour change; also accompanied by an appendix stating that the alexandrite possesses characteristics and merits special mention and appreciation. The alexandrite exhibits an impressive size and weight, combined with an excellent purity and an attractive cutting style. The stone shows a strong colour change from a saturated bluish green in daylight to a vivid purple in incandescent light. The colour change, also known as "alexandrite effect," is due to a combination of well-balanced trace elements in the stone, typical and characteristic for the finest alexandrites from Hematita (Minas Gerais) in Brazil. The alexandrite has been spared exposure to any treatment and its colour and purity are thus all natural. Alexandrites of gem-quality are found only in a few localities and in very limited quantities. The alexandrites from Hematita in Brazil show a characteristics and attractive colour-change, which places these gems among the most prestigious in the jewellery trade. A natural alexandrite from Hematita (Brazil) of this size and quality is very rare and thus the described gemstone with its combination of outstanding characteristics is a very exceptional treasure

Also accompanied by a report no. 12021055 dated on 1 March 2012 from the Gübelin Gemmological Laboratory stating that the 15.58 carat alexandrite is a natural chrysoberyl of Brazil origin, colour change in daylight: bluish-green, in incandescent light: reddish-purple, with additional comment stating that the gemstones display pronounced colour-change; also accompanied by an additional appendix stating that the natural alexandrite described was recovered from the Hematita mine and is remarkable in many regards. This exceptional gemstone displays a saturated and homogeneous colour combined with a very high degree of transparency. The well-proportioned cut provides many internal vivid colour reflections, enhanced by a pronounced colour change effect from bluish-green when viewed in daylight, to reddish-purple upon exposure to incandescent light. Such a combination of high clarity and strong colour-change effect, in a Brazilian alexandrite exceeding 15 carats is very rare
