Lot Essay

A craft-based tradition driven by the sensitive manipulation of natural materials has long characterized Danish mid-century design. However, Peter Moos' ability to render delicately-styled and meticulously-crafted furnishings, is considered without equal. He elected not to produce works for serial production, prefering instead to deliver smaller-scale custom furnishings that celebrated the properties of his chosen medium, realized with characteristic subtlety and detail. This unique cabinet is a fluent expression of Moos' idiosyncratic vision as a designer, and meticulous expertise as a cabinetmaker.
